JOB DESCRIPTION

We are strengthening our preventive work and are now looking for an engaged youth counselor/youth supporter who wants to be part of our team. If you want to make a difference, influence, and contribute to building our operations in accordance with the new social services act coming into force on July 1, we are looking for you. As a youth counselor, you will work closely with our family counselors to provide the support that young people need. We are facing a significant change process that presents exciting opportunities to shape our work according to the new guidelines from the social services act.

A large part of your work will involve outreach activities, where you actively seek contact with the youth in the municipality. This entails close collaboration with both internal and external partners, with schools being a central partner. You will also conduct advisory conversations with both youth and their guardians, as well as hold discussions related to court orders regarding community service.

The work primarily targets youth in middle and high school ages, and your working hours will typically be during the day, although exceptions may occur. In some cases, outreach work may be required during evenings and weekends, especially during high-risk weekends. You will also work closely with social services and the police to create a strong network around the youth.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with relevant education in treatment work, such as treatment pedagogue, treatment assistant, or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer. A B driver's license is an absolute requirement for the position. We also expect you to have experience working with youth and a good understanding of the challenges and needs that may exist within this target group.

Your experience and education should provide you with a solid foundation to offer professional and supportive work in your interactions with young people.

The position will be filled on the condition that it is not needed by already employed staff or that the conditions for recruitment change.
